Seven UPL clubs match into Uganda cup quarter finals

The just concluded round of 16 of the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup has seen 7 Uganda Premier League teams advance into the quarter finals.
Sports club Villa, KCCA FC, Vipers SC, URA FC, NEC FC, Express and Kitara all booked their spots in the last eight.
This adds the number one more as compared to the 6 who reached this level last season.
Express, URA FC and NEC return to this level having missed out in the last season.
Vipers, the defending champions who have won it on 4 occasions still keep their hopes alive after their dominant win against Iganga United.
NEC FC, the finalists in the 2023/24 season is the only side in the group in a hunt of its first glory.
Big league will not be represented at this level while regional league side, Happy Boys Kagaba remain in the race as underdogs.
Express and KCCA FC are the record champions all tied at 10 trophies followed by SC Villa at 9.
The winner of the Stanbic Uganda Cup represents the country in the CAF confederations league.
